Despite during an intellectual hurricane, Vivacious peeps are still able to spin off the gravity grave and fulfill their craves with... this!

This time around Homesickalienn teamed up with Paris and Seesee, the die-hard colleagues, for brainstorming on a ..project.. some project..yea.. which I have already erased out of my memory. But anyway, we ended up cruising through restaurants and places (in order to find a good concentrated spot to sit down, spread out sheets, get comprehended and come up with ideas on the project... yea I know it sounds like a bad excuse but fuck it lol) as something took us here on Sukhimvit 51 and we discovered one of the most exquisite afternoon tea spots in town.

Well well my dears, we had been previously informed that the cafe did not have a sign or any name tag to let people know where it is hidden, so this is what we can tell you readers; when you walk in Soi 51, like 50 meters from the main road, look to your right and you will see a plain ass white building with, if your luck loves you and this person performs his task routinely, a smiley lovely dainty security guard standing in front of a white door - ah yea baby Agalico is right there, I mean it's right at that freaking door - means you come to the right place, OK?

There were actually something to mention, in other word, to criticize. Waiters will not come and ask you something like "good morning sir, did you make a reservation? blah blah blah", instead they just walk and serve stuffs to people who already sit down comfortably in sofas. So what you need to do is go straight to the sitting spot, get your ass in a cozy hole, and smile. And not yet! Nothing will float to you in the air, most of the time you will need to float yourself to the bar, and tell them what you want to order. There are many kinds of tea, soft drinks, hot drinks, and cakes, as well as other oven-fresh bakeries that smells so fucking heavenly (I sound over-exaggerated don't I).

Agalico also offers you the outdoor-garden tables, which I would really love to occupy, alas.. rain ruined everything loll But it doesn't mean sitting indoor is the end of the world, you will enjoy the cafe's vintage decor which looks really neat and considerable delicate. The white-toned furnitures and the classic glittery chandelier will drown your imagination into the era of King Rama V ...aightt aighttttt it was beautiful ^^

So if you are seeking a place to chill-out your stresses with pals or business partners (well.. that even means to emerge more of a stress, but whatever) this is the place! Exquisite decor, dreamy atmosphere with reasonable prices.

The Ganesha Chaturthi festival is held annually and is one of the most essential Hindu observances Hindu adherents should participate in. The festival itself is mainly to celebrate the birth of Ganesha, the patron of arts and science and the god of intellect and wisdom.
In Thailand, Ganesha Chaturthi is worshiped throughout the country, mostly among people who involve with arts performing or intellectual learning. Ganesha is as well widely chanted for being a lord who brings in good luck and as the “Romover of Obstacles.”

This year, just like the previous years, the festival is established, through faiths and trusts in lord Ganesha, all around the country. Well known spots for the ceremony are the deva shrine in Silom, Bangkok and another ones are in Silpakorn University, Nakon Pathom province and at Hindu temple in Chiang Mai city.

But the place where the controversy begins is at Union Mall, Bangkok.

How do you differentiate a religious place and a shopping mall? It should not be hard to categorize these two apart from each others. As in common belief, while the first one serves as a heart of many religious members who seek for some peaceful place where they can spend time practice their religious observances, the latter one is quite understood to be a spot for teenagers to hang out with friends and get their senses of fashion on. The collision between these two places seems impossible, especially when they offer an extreme difference of style and routine.
But what if the collision really occurs; when a shopaholic meets pilgrims, when a graven image is put in front of Louis Vuitton bag? It is sure something to be talking about. The contradiction is seen obvious; who would think it would be appropriate to place temple inside a so-called living sin? But there are always two sides of the story. Now it’s about time to take a good look at another flipped side of it, being optimistic and realistic, open your eyes with new vision, because sometimes controversy takes a good topic into account.

It is right at the glassy entrance of Union Mall, Bangkok’s biggest street fashion warehouse for teenagers. The annual Ganesha Chaturthi festival is taking place right here; in front of fancy shophouses and surrounded by fashion-101birds and bees. People who visit this mall mostly are the ones you will see on the streets, wearing the most fancy and trendy clothes and seem to enjoy it a lot. It is such a contrast to thinking about how we see another type of people walking into the temple. They wear white sheets and look calm. As peaceful as they prefer to be, few of them would have a second thought on going to a nightclub in a short skirt and getting drunk with strangers. So as Ganesha is here, now there are exceptions, maybe in the reverse form.
The Ganesha Chaturthi festival takes place here every year, so apparently this is not new. There are Ganesha graven images both outside and inside the mall. And just like other places, people come to visit the image for worshipping their god and spend times praying, doing religious rituals and get self-fulfilled with virtue and warmth.

The stage is set. The shrine is set. The Brahmans are ready.

A while after people from all over the place are gathered in the area, mostly dressed in white, the ceremony begins. With Ganesha image being placed on a holy shrine, surrounded by Brahmans, the prayer starts with an unfamiliar voice and tone of southern Asia. It is a frigid, high-pitched hymn that gets everyone in awe of a soul-stimulated meditation and concentration. Around the corner of Ganesha image there was a set of holy foods, brought by disciples and Brahmans, which is considered to be served for Ganesha himself for his satisfaction.
People sit down quietly, as it cannot be heard but viewed. In the midst of Hindu mantra, attendants put palms together in worshipping the Garnesha. Some of them are with eyes closed, some of them also take their children at home to the ceremony, and apparently some of them are yawning and showing sign of boredom like most kids are always do when attending for such things.

Next to the crowd there are images of Hindu devas, such as Shiva and Parvati, as well as other widely-worshipped such as Uma and Brahma. With tags of descriptions providing information about each images, it lets all-around people know the story of each deva. And it goes on nicely, as many teenagers who are intentionally visiting Union Mall for clothe shopping drop by the ceremony and start walking around the deva images, paying attention to the tags. Some of them donated their money in a small jar provided for religious uses. Some of them seem to be very into the festivals.

These people sure are not wearing white. Most of them wear fashionable clothes and colorful bags. Sure these are things we don’t usually see in normal situation. When we say normal situation, we mean when we go to real temple, or other religious places, seeing people performing rituals with particular personalities of religious type of people you can tell. Who would have expected people wearing fancy clothes inside a temple? Sure it is inappropriate and it is prohibited by most of such places, and we have to agree with that. But think relatively, does that mean these fancy-dressed teenagers are with moral-less mind? Does it offer you the idea of being a devil if they wear all black gowns to the party?

If we take a look closely to the sitting crowd in front of Ganesha and the praying Brahmans, we can see many distinction of individual style in there. Some of them are with grey hair, because they are old. But some of them are with green hair, because they like it that way. What’s the difference? They both clam themselves peacefully in front of Ganesha image and they both are doing thing that most religious people believe to be the right thing to do daily.

How do you categorize good people out of bad people? If by using a method of seeing how often they attend a religious ceremony and a drunken party then Union Malls’ visitors may get swept into the latter category. The problem is how can you make sure making merits and praying will generate good behavior for mankind? What if people just don’t have a chance to perform for such things, and they get judged as a bad human?

Somehow this kind of thing separates idealism out of reality. Many people say teenagers nowadays are so away from religious activities, which sometimes true. Many people have suggested the idea of creating a temple inside a shopping mall; of course the idea is blamed to be inappropriate. But for many of us, it is such a bright idea to get teenagers some peace and happiness.

It’s all about chances and what there is inside our minds. The chance we need to grab is the chance to have sometimes evaluate what we are contained, mentally. Sometimes we haven’t released anything out of ourselves in order to get nodded by others as being a good person. Sometimes we cannot even see it until big incidents happen to our lives and we start to sit down and pray. But is that enough?

Social judgment leads public opinions towards particular directions, but there are still plenty of misconceptions that have been roughly stereotyped without considering another side of story that has been left out. Many religious beliefs around the world are consistently focusing on improving the minds, directly or indirectly, by using method such as eschatology or prayers. The question is do people who usually attend the church or temple or whatever – have pure hearts as they are thought to be by those visible behavior?

No one can point a finger on what is right and what is absolutely wrong. People are born differently and we do possess different minds. It always comes to our own self-consideration that will put the fairest decision on every single action we take, every step we make, and every idea and word we release.

As human, we still feel the needs of many aspects for living; money, estates, nice cars or a good looking girlfriend. We are sometimes led by religious beliefs to hide our own superego underneath a surface of morality. The way to nirvana is quite far, so maybe we should be taking the most responsibility out of everything we commit doing for now. As it will generates a good feeling, not only for us, but for the whole world as well.

At the end the questions appear, does it really matter if you are a strict Hindu but you love to dress up like a catwoman and walk on a street? Does it really matter if you are a strict Buddhist but you have no idea about the life of Lord Buddha in his past lives? Does it really matter if you are a strict Christian but decide to earn a living through being a stripper at night club?

This is no bashing to any beliefs in the world, but sometimes people beg to find the answer on what makes us a good person. People say you cannot put shopping mall and temple together because it is not what it has been, so why don’t people doubt about what would benefit individuals if those rituals are performed, but participants still possess dirtiness in their minds, bodies, and souls.

Review สำนึกรักบ้านเกิดประเดิมด้วยร้านอาหารที่ชอบยกขโยงมากับเพื่อนๆเวลากลับบ้านแล้วคิดไม่ออกว่าจะไปที่ไหน หาอะไรยัดท้องดี นอกจากวนเวียนอยู่กัีบร้านนม ขนมปังเย็น หรือบาร์เหล้าที่มีประมาณเจ็ดหมื่นแห่งทั่วเมืองแห่งการศึกษานี้ อะไรเทือกนั้น

ยอมรับโดยตรงว่า H แดกร้านนี้มาตั้งแต่ยังตั้งไข่ จนถึงทุกวันนี้ก็ยังไม่ชัวร์เลยว่ามันชื่อร้านอะไรกันแน่(วะ) จิตใต้สำนึกมันบอกว่าชื่อ "แจ่วฮ้อน" เฉยๆ แต่อีกจิตที่ตอแหลกว่ามันบอกว่า ชื่อแบบนี้มันง่ายเกินไป แต่ในใจ (ซึ่งเอาจริงๆไม่ถือว่า review ผิดนักหรอก เพราะแถวท่าขอนยางนั่นแม่งก็มีร้านนี้ร้านเดียวนั่นแหละ) คิดว่าชื่อนี้แหละถูกแล้ว ผู้อ่านอาจจะแย้งว่า "แล้วทำไมมึงไม่กลับไปดูชื่ออีกทีละ" H ก็จะตอบด้วยคำตอบเดิมๆไม่สร้างสรรค์ว่า "กูขี้เกียจจร่ะ"

ขอสาวความยืดอีกนิด คือร้านนี้เป็นร้านที่คนในท้องที่จะรู้จักกันดี เนื่องด้วยกิตติคุณความแซบและข้นคลั่กของน้ำซุปแจ่วฮ้อน และเมนูอาหาร optional อีกหลายร้อยรายการให้ผู้หิวโหยทั้งหลายสั่ง ทั้งอาหารอิสาน อาหารไทย ไปจนถึงอาหารฝรั่งเดาๆหรืออาจารจีนทั่วๆไปอีกด้วยนะเออ ร้านเปิดบริการมานานจนฮิตติดลมบนไปหลายยุคหลายสมัย ไม่เคยได้ยินนะว่าร้านนี้เค้าใกล้จะเจ๊ง หรืออะไรเทือกนั้น แสดงว่าของเค้าดีจริง!!

แต่ที่แน่ๆ หลังจากร้านปรับปรุงยกเครื่องเมนูใหม่ รวมทั้งปรับเปลี่ยนรูปแบบร้านให้ดูสวยงามขึ้นตามสมัย (และน่ายินดีมากที่โละพนักงานชุดเก่า ที่ปากกวนส้นตีนมาก และชอบทำตัวเหมือนเรามาขอแม่งแดกฟรี) สวนอาหารแห่งนี้ก็ยิ่งน่าเข้าไปเยี่ยมชมและเยี่ยมชิมมากขึ้นกว่าเดิมอีกแน่ะ ^^

ร้านอาหารเค้ามีดนตรีสดด้วยนะครับ ตอนหัวค่ำไปจนถึงประมาณสองทุ่มจะเป็นเพลงไทยสากล สตริง ร่วมสมัยทั่วๆไป เท่ด้วย saxophone คลอด้วยแหละเอ้อ ได้อารมณ์ไฮโซ (ให้จินตนาการว่าตับหวานที่แดกอยู่ในปากนั่นเป็นฟัว กราส์ อะไรแบบนั้น...) ต่อจากนั้นในช่วงที่ดึกขึ้นก็จะเปลี่ยนมือมาเป็นวงดนตรีอีกวงที่จะขับกล่อมเพลงเพื่อชีวิต เคล้าก้อยขม ให้บรรยากาศพาอาหารแซบยิ่งขึ้น

ก็รู้สึกอยู่ ว่าพล่ามไปเยอะมาก งั๊นมาเริ่มจานแรกเลยละกันท่าน (ปรับอารมณ์ทันมั๊ย? โอเคทัน)

อารมณ์ว่าเป็น appetizer ยั่วให้ต่อม้ำลายแตกเป๊าะๆแป๊ะๆในปาก (ศัพท์อิสานเรียกว่า ส้มปาก นะจ๊ะ) ก่อนอาหารหลักจะมา มันคือหอยนางรม อูมๆขาวๆนี่เอง

จะแดกเปล่าๆก็กะไร ก็ต้องมีเจ้าเครื่องเคียงพวกนี้ด้วย หยิบนิดผสมนี่หน่อยลงบนหอย แล้วก็กลืน เอื้อกกกก อร่อยยยยยยมากกกกกก

ยำเห็ดเข็มทองทอดกรอบ อันนี้แซบแบบกรึบๆกรุบๆยังไงบอกไม่ถูก คืออีเห็ดเข็มทองนี่มันก็อร่อยกรุบของมันอยู่แล้ว พอเอามาทอดแล้วก็จะกรอบๆนุ่มๆไปอีกแบบนึง ใช้ได้ๆ น้ำยำก็รสชาติดี ก็โออะ ก็โอ...

เมนูสามัญประจำที่ราบสูง หมูแดดเดียวสิครับ จานนี่ก็ใช้ได้ แต่ไม่ถึงกับอร่อยเทพ เพราะหมูมันออกเค็มมากไปนิดนึง แล้วก็ไม่ค่อยนุ่มแฮะ เกือบจะคิดว่าเป็นเนื้อแล้วนะ ทีแรก ตอนหย่ำเข้าไปในปาก (ลาววันละคำ หย่ำ แปลว่า เคี้ยว จร่ะ)

อันนี้เค้าเรียกกันว่า อุขาลาย ไอ้อุเนี่ย H ก็ไม่มั่นใจหรอกนะว่านิยามในการประกอบอาหารของมันต้องเป็นอะไร ยังไง แต่มันจะอารมณ์เหมือน...อ่อม อะ แต่น้ำจะน้อยกว่าอ่อม จะเป็นแบบ ขลุกๆขลิกๆน่ะครับ ...get ปะหว่า เหมือนในรูปอะ พูดง่ายๆ อันนี้เป็นอุที่ใช้เนื้อส่วนขาลายของวัว อ๋อไม่ต้องถามว่าขาลายมันคือตรงไหน เป็นยังไง เพราะกูไม่รู้ แต่คงไม่ใช่ขาลายๆที่เกิดจาก cellulite แตกตัวตอนไม่แดกข้าวสามเดือนแน่ๆ

อันนี้ปลานิลลุยสวน ถามว่าทำไมเป็นปลานิลวะ ทำไมไม่เป็นปลาช่อน ก็จะตอบว่าวันนั้นปลาช่อนเค้าหมดครับ ปลาทับทิมก็หมด กะพงก็ไม่มี เหลือแต่ปลานิล 555 ห่ามึง แต่ก็อร่อยดี ลุยสวนจนกูเกือบหลงทาง ไอ้เหี้ย ทีแรกกูควานหาปลาไม่เจอ เครื่องเยอะสัดหมา แต่กินไปกินมากลายเป็นข้อดี คือมันสะใจมาก จะตักคำไหน ก็ได้ครบรสชาติเครื่องเคียงหมดดดด เจ๋ง

พระเอก of the moment แจ่วฮ้อนมาเสิร์ฟแล้วจ้า หม้อต้มแจ่วฮ้อนมากับน้ำซุปที่ถูกเติมมาแล้ว ขอบอกว่า climax เค้าอยู่ที่น้ำซุปนี่แหละ นัวมาก!!! (อิสานวันละมากกว่าหนึ่งคำ นัว แปลว่า กลมกล่อม จ้า นัยหนึ่ง นัว ก็ึคือ รสอูมามิ นั่นแหละจ้าา) พอน้ำเดือด เราก็จะโยนผัก เหวี่ยงเนื้อลงไป ไม่นานมันก็จะสุก พร้อมกิน อารมณ์เหมือนชาบูชิดีดีนี่เองท่าน สำหรับคนภาคอื่นที่ไม่เคยลิ้มลองอะนะ ^^

อะ ช่วยกันเด็ด คนละไม้คนละมือ สะอาดจ้าา confirm เหอๆ

สำหรับแ่จ่วฮ้อนนั้น มีหลายชุดให้เลือก หมู ไก่ เนื้อ รวม ทะเล ก็มีหมด รสชาติเด็ดดวงอรทัยหมด เพราะมันใช้ซุปเหมือนกันหมด!! :D เวลากินทีนี่ น้ำหูน้ำตาถึงกับไหล ทั้งเผ็ด ทั้งร้อน รู้สึกเหมือนมา steam หน้า มากๆครับท่าน แต่มันเป็นควา่มสะใจที่แฝงอยู่อย่างลงตัวในความร้อนนั้น ฮ่าๆ

ใครสนใจหรือมีโอกาสมา มหาสารคาม ก็ลองมาแวะทานได้เด้อจ้า อยู่บริเวณท่าขอนยาง ใกล้บริเวณมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม ถ้ามาจาก กทม พอเลยตัวเมืองมาทางมหาวิทยาลัย พอข้ามสะพานถึงทางแยกเข้า มมส ก็ให้ตรงมาเรื่อยๆ ไม่ต้องไปบ้าจี้เลี้ยวซ้ายเ้ข้าไปในมหาลัยตามกระแส เลยมาประมาณ 500 เมตร ก็จะเห็นร้านนี้ตั้งอยู่ริมถนน ทางซ้ายมือเด้อจ้าา

แบบว่า ต่อจากนี้ไป FoodSickAlienn (รวมทั้งเนื้อหา entry บางอัน) อาจจะมาให้อ่านกันในภาษาบ้านเกิด (ขึ้นอยู่กับระดับความตอแหลของ entry นั้นๆ) และแน่นอน ประเดิมด้วย review ค้างสต๊อคกับร้านที่ไปแดกมาเมื่อประมาณสิบหกล้านปีแสงที่แล้ว (อ๋อ ถามว่าก่อนหน้านี้ทำไม H ไม่ review - ตอบ กูขี้เกียจจร่ะ)

Tuscany ชื่อร้านมาพร้อมกับจินตนาการว่าต้องอารมณ์ Italian จ๋าแน่ๆ แล้วมันก็เป็นอย่างที่ว่าจริงๆ สืบมาว่าเจ้าของร้านเค้าได้แรงบันดาลใจจากหนังที่ Diane Lane แสดงนำเรื่อง Under The Tuscun Sun แล้วนำมาตั้งเป็นชื่อร้านจรุงใส่บรรยากาศชิวๆเหมือนได้ไปเดินนวยนาดที่ Italy อะไรประมาณนั้น..

พอดีว่าเพื่อนที่อยู่คอนโดแถวนั้น มันบอกว่าวันหนึ่งก่อนที่ชีจะดับไฟนอน ตาชีเสือกเหลือบไปเห็นแสงไฟส้มสลัวกับเสียงดนตรีสดดังกวนประสาทมาจากสถานที่แห่งหนึ่ง อารมณ์ว่าอยู่ในรัศมีไม่ใกลที่ตีนน่าจะพาไปถึงได้โดยไม่เมื่อย หลังจากพบว่ามันคือร้านอาหารชิลๆร้านหนึ่ง ชีจึงขวนขวายที่จะพาเพื่อนๆไปแดก และแล้ววันนั้นมันก็มาถึง

ร้านอยู่ในซอยพหล 23 เข้าไปในซอยเรื่อยๆตามทางคดเคี้ยว (ถ้ามาจากพหล) ก็จะเห็นเอง อยู่ในซอยนั่นแหละ อ๋อเอารถไปได้ ที่จอดมีครับ แต่ไม่เยอะ กะด้วยสายตาน่าจะจอดได้ประมาณสิบคันมั๊ง ที่นั่งสำรองไว้คงจะดี มีทั้ง zone open air และ indoor จ้า

เออ เลือกนั่งตรง open air เพราะตอนนั้นลมเย็นชิวๆมาก จำได้ว่าหิวเหมือนจะแดกควายได้สามตัว ก็เลยเริ่มสั่งอาหารทันที เห็นตรงป้ายร้านข้างล่างชื่อ Tuscany มีเขียนไว้ด้วยว่า Thai Cuisine H ก็เอ้า เสือกขายอาหารไทย พอเปิดเมนูก็ถึงบางอ้อ เค้าเท่ด้วยการเสิร์ฟอาหาร fusion น่ะจร่ะ

บ่ายคล้อย อาทิตย์ไป จันทร์มา ก็สั่งน้ำแตงโมปั่นมาดูด ซู๊ดๆ (เกี่ยวกันปะวะ..) เข้มข้นใช้ได้

เริ่มรู้สึกเปรี้ยวปาก เนื่องด้วยเป็นคนมาจากที่ราบสูง ก็ต้องลอง fusion สลายดั้งซะหน่อย ลาบแซลมอนก็เลยมาวางแหมะบนโต๊ะ อร่อยอีกแล้ว ปลาสดใช้ได้เลย รสชาติก็ลาวนิดๆอินเตอร์หน่อยๆ กรุบกริบ

นี่เค้าบอกอันนี้เป็นของเด็ดของร้าน ขาหมูสูตร Italian ขาหมู Tuscany อร่อยดี

เสียดายอย่างนึง มาไม่ได้เวลาตอนที่เค้าเริ่มเล่นดนตรีสด H ไปเร็วไปหน่อย ดนตรีสดน่าจะมาเวลาประมาณสองทุ่ม เราไปตั้งแต่หกโมงกว่าๆ แต่ก็โอเคอะ ได้บรรยากาศชิวๆไปอีกแบบ แต่ไม่รู้ว่าข้างใน indoor จะเป็นยังไงเหมือนกัน เห็นว่าประดับร้านสวยเหมือนกันนะ คราวหน้าถ้าไปมาอีกเดี๋ยว review ใหม่ เหอๆ

อะ อันนี้กูถ่ายมาเผื่อๆนะครับ ห้องน้ำเค้า เหอๆ

Fo shizzle HSA's geting his lazyass back on a desktop. "For The Moment, 'FTM' " is another entry that confusingly deals with whatever I've been accompanying with while I'm bored or out of control - depends on different circumstances and each emotional landslides of mine. So you know, if the entry doesn't make sense, you will probably know why - because The Definition of Subterranean HomesickAlienn is Kinda Messed Up. So I am starting the first one with some tunes that got me into it FTM.

M.I.A. - Steppin' Up

Get it on again babygurlllll (no awkwardness though she's like a decade older than me) This sounds so much similar to what I expected after hearing Diplo stating "New M.I.A.'s album is WEIRD and HEAVY" and yes, it was around the time that "Born Free" was digitally released and before XXXO interrupted a bit of my fanatic nerve. "Steppin' Up" is a fast-and-furious-ish mixed-up version of "Bird Flu" and "Bamboo Banga" and it just sounds sooooooo cool (right? I'm not biased, right? right? :DD) Undoubtedly it becomes a big fan-favorite around the globe in less than 10 minutes after it's aired on the radio. So now it got me pissed on my pants anticipating the full album...

Chiddy Bang - Truth

Truth is... I once misunderstood this band (or maybe better refer as a duo) as British, in fact they are originally American. Well I didn't mean to subtextize the sentence saying Brit tune are creatively sicker than that of the US's (of course there are exceptions), but should we disguise our feeling :P Chiddy Bang got a fantastic album I'd say and this is by far my most admired track of them. Even though it couldn't surpass the success of their previous MGMT sampling hit "The Opposite of Adult", This Passion Pit sampling track is still pretty interesting. It's catchy and quite entertaining :DD as we can sense that from now on your boy next door's mixed tape can reach a success in delivering good combination between electronic music and those rhymes without getting you annoyed or saying "boy, you've been trying too hard on nothin'..."

I got one more mid-term examination left, actually it's re-scheduled due to an instability of color sport event between the red and yellow team going on in the kingdom. But ain't nothing going to stop this greedy motherfucker to hang out and eat stuffs. H and Hong (which her visage area is revealed in the picture above due to H having no other picture of the restaurant's atmosphere lol)

The owner of this restaurant is a famous Thai DJ and TV actress, Nok Sikrintarn. It's located in "All Star Golf Complex" near Laos Embassy, not far from Meng-Jai intersection. Quite deep in a soi but not too hard to get there if you have a car.

The first impression was that it's quite a nice little hip dinning place, good for a friendly meeting. They offer both indoor and outdoor table (better book ahead because there aren't too many tables there) We order apple juice (how boring it is, but well..) and wait for the main course,,,

So here comes our beloved Italian pizza. Love its thin-crispiness so much. We demand it half Salmon and Magarita (original Italian pizza with homemade tomato sauce and cheese)

And it's almost impossible for H to miss ordering Cabonara as it became my cliche dish already. Tasty white sauce - not too thick and I love it, again!!

Lamb with basil leaves, another interesting dish available. Quite pricy compare to an amount of edible objects in the dish but it tastes OK

Firstly, I’m not a perverted, neither a sex-addicted nor Karma sutra-abused. Secondly, from my idiosyncratic-ish perspective, there’s a fragile borderline beyond a frontier of how you define the term “good listeners who can appreciate music in all types and forms” that can easily lead other people to imagine me as a macro-nympho. To precisely indicate how this playlist has been done, I slowly choose all these tracks based on how it gives out a feeling of excitement (of course not only sexually, but for other feelings that involve a process of your adrenaline as well), their tones of tune – normally this particular type of song always has its natural force to calm me, chill me out, give me a heaven’s door of relaxation or something like that. It could be a song that you would like to hear after a day of tiresomeness or chaotic work activities as well as romping yourself within the heat of arousing sex with your partner(s). Damn I have to admit that it's really Trip-Hop music that possesses a power to squeeze out our adrenaline. This song from Massive Attack is beautiful, moving, and mysteriously sexy. It requires some immaculate earphone or a nice amplifier with bass-boost function to fully appreciate the song. Oh and it also takes one nice bed for whatever happens afterwards :D

I've been dropping my ass tasting their variety curry dishes for long, but this is quite the first time I'm putting it in words and making it recommended on my cyberspace ^^

Coco Ichibanya has been gaining their reputation as one of masters in Japanese curry back in their native land, Japan, and it's once named the most popular place for such food in the land of Samurai.

This time around, me and my friends went there again, at Central Chaengwattana - also they have branches in Esplanade Ratchada and Siam Paragon, and let's see what we got ^^

Aroi na. They serve foods in a considerably big dish, afterwards you will have to find an excuse for not exercising to decrease your level of fat and energy consumed (FYI - A dish of curry can give you as much as 600 - 1200 kilo calories!!) Their curry is rich in taste; blended together with many traditional or international ingredients that results to many interesting fusion dishes i.e. A curry with burger or a Salmon curry. They also have spaghetti to serve, but I think it would be fucked up to go a famous restaurant for curry and then order spaghetti..

And don't worry about getting too much rice; you can simply demand them to decrease an amount of rice in your dish and you will get 20 baht discount! You can as well choose a level of spiciness, from 1 to 5 for 5 is the hottest ^^

You sure should appreciate what Ms. Morissette had written down here.

Assumed to be straight out of her inner harshness after once shared bed with Dave Coulier (actor from a TV sitcom Full House), Morissette co-wrote the song with Glen Ballard with an obvious aggressiveness. As the song's publicly seen to be a verbal revenge to the one who gave her a broken down love affair, it as well started off her outrageous career to be world's then-new rising star. After enjoyed ruling the Canadian chart, where she's born and raised, for a while, Morissette debuted this song on the US Billboard Hot 100 and made it as far as no.6. The song played a significant role in pushing her album's sale upwards to more than 16 million copies in US alone! Making it the best selling international debut album from a female artist in the history of music industry.

FYI. It's honored to be the first hit single from a female artist to include the word "fuck" in the lyrics, how impressive.

Personally, it's damn sure to be one of my most favorite tracks from Alanis - along with Uninvited and Joining You. Listening to this song when you feel like punching someone is soooo satisfying...

FoodSickAlienn Vol.5 Spring&Summer

It's Guitar's birthday and our peeps do need to find some cozy place to chill their stress out with tasty dishes and to-die-for atmosphere. We ended up booking a seat for eight at Spring&Summer, Sukhumvit 39, to celebrate the occasion and get ourselves full.

No disappointments regarded the decision; the foods are supurb. The atmosphere's beyond satisfying and their desserts are SUPER! I have pictures of the cakes as well but it was like taken at the time everything physical and edible were gone, only blank dishes are left.. so it was quite positive to sub-prove how tempting those cakes represented :P

To mention about the foods, other than its great taste and nice decor, I must say you have to be ready to pay too. The prices are quite harsh lol A glass of mixed berry blended will cost you 185 baht and main dishes could lie from 200 TB at the least to around 500 TB. It's worth it for a special occasion, of course, but not for a daily consumption, of the damn course :D

You need to book your seat first. As crowded as we couldn't get to sit in the yard zone (winter), ultimately we are sent to the summer zone (indoor). But it was nice as well, at least we didn't have to flip ourselves on those bean bags while trying to appreciate a river shrimp.

It's cute enough to be put here. Blackstreet is infamous for their sweet mellow RnB ballads, Mya ignites her fame from her honeyed-innocent vocal and her dance move. Both are collided and BAMMMM the result comes out so cute.

From her controversial album, Like A Prayer. This song is hidden beneath an obvious substance of scandals this talented woman generated at that time. But hey don't let the package fools you - this song is supercute!!

Karen O & The Kids - All Is Love

Loveeeeee youuuu Karennnnn, I adore this woman especially to witness her mixed persona i.e after a wild-turn stage performance, she can head her characteristic down to a very dainty side. This soundtrack-origin song, for a favor of her former boyfriend Spike Jonze, proved that Yeah Yeah Yeahs' lead bitch can be soooo adorable too!

MGMT - Love Always Remains

It may not be as childish as other songs above, but this electro-inspired tune aesthetically got my eyes closed, with my deep memories of happiness in childhood emerged, and me saying "hell yeah at the end who can deny its other greatness overall?"

Yet again it's quite comprehensive for people to gain their weight in order to have more fun with earth's gravity around the new year's celebration period. HSA did a treasure hunt on Pantip and found this place. So let's see what they got, if it's worth a salivary starvation :))

From the Thonglor intersection, drive in the Thonglor Rd. around 200 m, at the first bend on the right you will see a bunch of Korean restaurants (actually there's a lot to mention here in Thonglor for such restaurants.) Kum Hyang has a cute Korean flag on its entrance door, all you have to do is walk inside (or book a seat if you don't want to frustrate your ass while being hungry), sit down and enjoy an appreciation of a real Korean BBQ.

Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh... I starve my ass posting these pictures myself...

Anyway, ... err....hungry mak mak.. errr... anyway, โอ้ยกูหิว...

Anyway,, ok, again I have to make an apology straight to the fact that I broke my D5000 (and it costs a lot to fix damn it) so it's needed for me to use my N72's cammy capturing all the essences of these foods for you guys.

Kum Hyang welcomes you with many traditional kimchi (as I'm not a big fan of it - all kimchi tastes like a ส้มผักเสี้ยน to me {ask H. for a full translation}) These veggie kimchi shall be eaten with the grilled meat. What I see very healthy is that they continuously substitute a griddle once it gets a little bit burnt, usually in every 30 min. The meat is OMG, tasty even without dipping in a sauce. It's really nice how you can enjoy this thing without having to pay half of your monthly income. Their price is surprisingly cheap compare to what we get in return. FYI, they have buffet - if you're curious why I say it's so worth it.

When I Grow Up by Fever Ray

Apart from “The Knife”, a permanent project yet-in-hiatus along with her brother, Karen Anderson continues her uniqueness in style with a side solo one. Going under the name “Fever Ray”, Karen delivers an electronica synths beat, neatly collaborates with her distorted high-pitched vocal and deep lyrics, things I always love to misinterpret :P By the end of the year LastFM ranged her no. 32 on their best of ’09 lists, impressive isn’t it?

And what’s up with substitutions? Despite knowing the reason why this lady avoid to make an appearance in her music videos, I always still get caught by the thought of misunderstanding a beautiful young woman in this video for the singer, as it is actually not. Karen always performs on stage with loads of theatrical elements and a whole bunch of haunting yet interesting make up on, but whatever.

“When I Grow Up” (thank god I eventually succeed in getting the topic back) received my full attention right after it’s released right after a subterranean wave created by her debut solo single “If I Had A Heart.” The quirky, irregular electro beat and a Scandinavian-ish arctic programming vibe combined drive the melody smoothly as it carries out a depth in the song’s atmosphere for listeners to slowly build and build a shivery, calm feeling until the end.

Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z Featuring Alicia Keys

Currently HSA lives in Bangkok, for educational purpose. Street lights, exquisite fashion vibe, night timing and skyscrapers are senses of mega city I can undeniably witness. In 2005 I had a chance to be in New York City for a couple of weeks - thrilling it was, astonishing it certainly was. It’s like a BKK times two, for NYC no matter where you go, you’ll apprehend the city ecstasy in it. Supertall building, those big yellow taxis, and who could miss the great Empire State Building.

Jay-z teamed up with Alicia Keys in this glorious downtown anthem. The song starts with an immediate old-school hip hop beat with Jay-Z rhymes “…I’m the new Sinatra, and since I made it here, I can make it anywhere.” What extraordinarizes the song even more is Ms. Keys’ part, she captures our love by kicking out one of the best hooks I have ever heard in years, “In New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of…”

Splendid it is; the rhymes , the beat, the vibe, the hook, the melody, the piano, the everything, the oh my god, the woahhhh, the masterpiece, the year’s best!

My Girl by Animal Collective

What’s a charm of noise pop? It is when you can scooch your languid bag of bones while feeling eyelids sandwich each others, mind-float with a flow of every little aspects in a melodious noise. It’s like a kind of harmony that makes you feel like getting high, not on crack but on an intonation.

What’s a charm of this Baltimore-based group called “Animal Collective”? It’s basically what you have read above combined with strength in conveying the kind of music into mainstream success. The band’s latest album “Merriweather Post Pavilion” is overwhelmingly praised by critics, plus hammered in critical-acclaimed single-after-single – “My Girl” is yet to be the first work cut off the album to promote. The song strikes my otological organs with its smelly Neo-psychedelia sound that starts slowly, seems intergalactic, with the first verse, “There isn't much that I feel I need. A solid soul and the blood I bleed,” repeated four times with accelerated speed until it constantly maintains the repeated melody through its six minutes. The song is innovative, so “Animal Collective,” so cute to sing along without being frustrated that this is way far away from being a mainstream tune.

Lisztomania by Phoenix

A cute and tasty French dish to serve your ear drums. Phoenix, a French-based alternative rock band, sparked their US debut (despite being international since their 1999’s admission album ) with the first single off their latest highly-praised album “Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix” called “1901”, the song’s been widely successful mainstream as it also climbed as high as no. 87 position on the Billboard Hot 100. The second single, “Lisztomania”, didn’t soar as high but it’s proved to audiences it is worth to be a fanatic freak for this band. A constant standard, we love it.

I prefer this song to “1901” because it’s so energetic that I can relate my ass to it when I feel like shit. It is an adorable track. It’s dancy, shaky, very fun to sing along and yet very catchy. There’s no complexity in term of music arrangement in this song. Alas, its simplicity is good enough to make this song stand out, just like how I feel towards bands like Coldplay or Kings of Convenience, as one of the year’s bests.

Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) by Florence And The Machine

Too bad if this wasn’t for songs released within the last 365 days, I would have to cherish Florence’s first two debut singles “Kiss With A Fist” and “Dogs Day Are Over” as a year’s best. Howsoever, nothing could stop this talented bitch and her backing-music-fellow band to follow an achievement with another indie storm. Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) becomes their mega-hit; again, as critics applauded, a fan-based supporter is rapidly generated world-wide, especially the hippie-ish group of listeners, maybe because of a vibrant and lively sound they delivers perhaps? Their debut CD “Lungs” went platinum. It’s been mentioned as a year’s recommendation from NME, Pitchfork, LastFM, especially from the BBC as they played a big role introducing the band to prominence, and a list goes on. Enough for an overall notoriety - now dissect the song please!

Other than nice lyrics, Florence blends many background sounds together with the machine. An echoing drum rolls, a clarity piano along the baseline combine with some powerful chorus make the song stuck in your head for days. A soul-inspired vocal associated with a baroque-rock music creates a unique and dazzling character of the song. Therefore, I love it. Yes, I love this song so damn much!!

HSA's here to present an old-ass aged-stocking restaurant review that he's last visited like a couple of months ago :P I planned to blog this right after I got back from the place, unfortunately due to the lack of inspiration in publishing another FoodsickAlienn issue while in the situation of facing the final exam makes the agenda disappeared. But fuck that, here it is so enjoy your delicious ride people!

AKIYOSHI

Located within the reach of BTS, visitors can walk from the Pra Kanong station to yummily entertain themselves with a sense of real Japanese sukiyaki and a nice meat that's agreeable along its price. Akiyoshi offers you two kinds of self-cooking style; sukiyaki and shabu shabu. I ordered sukiyaki set with a traditional black soup that requires you to dip your piece of meat into it, wait until well done then say C'est la Vie while appreciate the well-marinated meat in your mouth. For those who are afraid to fuck the food up, they have a description on the table stating ways to correctly cook these foods.

Got bored of meat? Here you can as well order a side dish. They have both traditional and fusion dishes to serve. Salmon or other kinds of sashimi, grilled beans, fried rice that smells like heaven or a sake for your consideration.

After spending months appreciate their latest CD “It’s Blitz!” I wonder how fans would react to the little change Karen and friends did to their musical style. Good ol’ YYYs with aggressive garage punk-rock sound seem faded as audiences witness a new touch of more electronic feel. “Zero” is selected as the first single of this album. It’s fresh, dancy and enlighten – the terms we don’t expect to use with YYYs. At 4.25 run, you will find yourself in the middle of dizzy stars, for the last one and a half minute through the end.

Strawberry Swing by Coldplay

I assume no needed descriptions of “Coldplay” shall be made since the band’s already been gaining more and more reputations each work they manage to release, unbelievably how they constantly sustain the quality of sound and style.

This afro-pop influenced song has an intro that reminds me a lot of เซิ้งหมอลำ that occasionally occurs near my house. The frontman, Chris Martin, said he’s got inspired by the time he spent his youthhood in Zimbabwe, not Mahasarakham – so I don’t have to wonder if he copied a style of จินตรา พูนลาภ. The result is a cute, chilling free-guitars based with some starry psychedelic synths sound Track that makes you want to spend your time floating slowly in the air while weird creatures are flying by your side or something :P Lastly I’d say this is as well my personal most favorite track overall in “Viva la Vida or Death And All His Friends .”

I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas

A high school club party anthem of the year, hands down. After been hated and refused to download by me at first, I swallow my pride saying this motherfucking track deserves its 14 consecutive weeks on the summit peak of BB Hot 100, to be completely honest I’d rather see this song beat the fuck out of Mariah’s One Sweet Day to get crowded to the longest runner at no.1 there. Personally I feel so good every time I get this track on. It’s like a fresh zephyr of happiness blows through my mind or something :D

The Reeling by Passion Pits

At the very first time hearing this first single from their debut album “Manners” I was like “Wooahhhheyy who the hell sings this? Sooooo gotta dig their profile,” and I did. Passion Pits is an American electronic band from Massachusetts. They formed the band in 2007 and afterwards became, undoubtedly, exposed and popular due to its use in many advertisements in USA, Canada as well as in the UK.

“The reeling”, for me, is a disco pop song that reminds me of a feeling when I was high by the city light, or driving through a flamboyant downtown along with some chic friends.

“The Reeling” keeps throwing sounds and sounds on you without stopping. The vocal style makes me imagine the Bee Gees in front of you singing. The hard beat invites you to jump up and down your bed on your private outfits alone in the room. It should also be cheerful to play this song after your tired ass day of working. I recommend the track for your lack-of-inspiration-and-energy as well.

Untouchable by Girls Aloud

An epic-seven minute-long track, that immediately led fans question whether the Xenomania team was high on crack while composing it or not, proved this Guinness World Records’ Most Successful Reality TV-based band that it takes beauty/sexiness with creative and innovative skills of a visionary team producer and a little bit of a good PR to get further away from being a one-hit-wonder like what normally happened to such groups.

“Untouchable”, taken from their latest CD “Out Of Control”, is an electronic pop song that starts exquisitely with Nicola’s tender singing along with a beautiful drifting guitar before ignites the beat up to become a classy trance-influenced song that you’ll love to hear while spending time with your beloved one in Ibiza or Milan. It will continuously build up more and more emotional feeling every time it keeps growing on you and you will realize seven minutes is not as long as it seems.

It took me a couple of minutes in the middle of supposed-to be-cold-but-hot as hell night to go through restaurant reviews shit on the internet and then I found this. Five minutes later after I tried to turn off the lights and head for bed, I sms'ed Hong if she would like to check the place out with me. Woke up the latter day, we rocked the route.

This restaurant is not hard to find. It's located at an entrance of MUJI on the 7th floor of Central World. It's on the ZEN side FYI. This restaurant currently has a buffet promotion; all you can eat (eat til you die - for H) What they have to offer for buffet are basically spaghetti and Greek sandwich. They also have the A-la-carte dishes if you try to avoid an overeaten situation.

An instant impressive shit is the Mediterranean style decor they did to the place. It gives you a glimpse of Italian sea breeze or something like what you see in the movie which I cannot really afford to witness in reality lol

The foods were fine. As a big fan of carbonara, I recommend you order it. The pasta was quite tough to chew; felt like it's not well-cooked, and that could be the only weak point I suggest. Those fusion dishes (spicy seafood ie.) were agreeable. For the money you pay, as it's not too expensive, this restaurant is worth a try at least.

Prices : 150 - 500 per serving and 333+ each for buffet

For Fuck Sake

Hands down, this is one of their best works to date, from both Topley-Bird and Sigismondi.

Martina is well-known for her infamous collaborations with loads of masterpieces from Tricky and Miss Sigismondi The Great :D is one of my all-time most inspiring directors who always comes up with her usual inner darkness that always delivers a glance of fine art onwards her productions.

The video unarguably possessed a low budget, but Sigismondi nailed the fuck out of it. She perfectly blended a dept of Topley-Bird's voice and that gloomy-yet-graceful music together with black-toned images portraying the naked singer surrounded by mysterious objects, which I supposed it's Sigismondi who tried to create whatever we all do not want to assume what it is in her works - just like Bjork - to leave out an unsolved curiosity for us viewers :P The video starts like that and eventually Topley-Bird is all wrapped up by some kind of fabric that leads to my memory about Bjork's Cocoon - very similar!! But check it out by your self this video is my goddamn recommendation for tonight!

I'll start with this tiny tiny bowl of a kind of noodle looking ricy (damn.. because it's made of rice aka a rice noodle lol, don't know why I don't I just simplify it since the first two sentences) with chicken and some veggie which I don't know what its name is, well..

It's called Kouy (not Kouy as a cock) Tiaw Kua Kai (Big Dried Rice Noodles with Chickens)

It tastes like a plain dried noodle, smells better though, and is already fine without adding extra seasoning loei na. Since ten or more people wait in line with arms crossing the shoulder to try it, it makes the dish tastes so much better! Oh and they have น้ำลำใย Logan juice to serve doey na ^^ A bit too sweet though, but worth a wait at least.

Go and try it at a lilttle soi in the Bangkok's china town. The restaurant has no official name. We simply call this the ร้านก๋วยเตี๋ยวคั่วไก่ lol So enjoy seeking them na!

The song opens with an acoustic light guitar that makes me wonder if I am listening to Snow Patrol or Keane. A minute later it's all proved that I'm damn wrong, lol. They throw in the beat and go hard on this; it doesn't take more than five seconds to feel the UK Garage style along the drum and bass, dubstep beat which they are good at producing. Plan B's vocal becomes another essential factor driving this song smoothly with the words about something that is led to its ending point, hopeless and cold ... And to the music and lyrics, it's dark, yet enlightening. It's sad, yet inspiring and all of these combined will make the song go straight right to your favorite December's playlist as it has already grown on me, more and more I listen to it :)

This song no wonder makes it here since it's from an Icelandic band that always deliver such a freezing-to-death melodic sound with a positivity to create a freezing-to-tears despair to listeners. Since they sing this in Icelandic and I don't feel like translating it so I don't know what the hell the lyrics are about lol

Winter by Tori Amos

Secondly, how can we miss this bitch? Tori Amos is personally respected as one of the coolest female artists that still exist in the current shitty world of music. This song,, well the lyrics are truly deep and thoughtful, just like how she always composed her songs. The sound of Tori's piano is truly another "must" for an annual winter and it's what made this song so powerful eventually.

Well well well here comes ms. Keys' second single from The Element of Freedom after a No One-ish lead track that seemed to be failed invading a high position on BB chart (despite being adored by HSA himself..maybe due to her โหยหวน hook.) Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart was chosen as a placebo to cure Ms. Keys' chart suffering but since Since SINCE we're not here to rate the track, we're going to dissect the element of this goddamn video,,

Firstly, it suits the song SOOOO WELL, I might be over exaggerated but since here's my blog so fuck you all :P The lil sections of cartoon-ish scene make sense because you know what - Ms. Keys turns into a super girl this time. Yea it sounds weird to see her as a member of X-MEN but ain't it cool you guyyyss?? What I love about her in this vid is that she looks so perfectly matched with the character given. Well who'd expect BEP to bounce back to the top spot after falling down to no.5 last week. The Truth is it still gives me a glance of happiness/ sense of an upcoming enjoyable atmosphere every time I hear this song. It sure will stick around for a while. Dramatically I try not to be attracted by a commercial-ish track but, as a good listener without musical frontier, it's undeniably to refuse the song's charm. Good music is Good Music/ Period.

Alicia Keys' Doesn't Mean Anything... I think she comes up with a not-so-impressive lead single this time. The track could be awesome as it actually is, if her previous single called "No One" didn't exist...

Dancer In The Dark : How The Melodrama Breaks Your Heart

When was the last time you cry for a movie?

The question exists since drops of tears stringing down the face after two and a half hour concentrating on Lars Von Trier’s movie, “Dancer in The Dark.”

After two previous critical-acclaimed films for his “Golden Heart Trilogy,” “Breaking the Waves” in 1996 and “The Idiots” in 1998, Lars Von Trier, an infamous Danish director who’s well known for experimenting new material in his films, decided to complete his project by inviting Bjork, an Icelandic superstar, to take part and portray another side of herself in this movie.

“Dancer in the Dark” tells a story of Selma Jezkova, a Czech immigrant, who works at a factory with poverty life. She is suffered from a hereditary degenerative disease that will finally cause her to go blind, and of course her son, Gene, may automatically suffer the same fate. Despite her blindness, Selma still works hard and safe all money she receives to pay for her son’s operation to prevent the devil’s own luck. To escape from a real-life misery, Selma glides into her imagination – a surreal melodious world that’s fulfilled with thing she loves – music. The fact that Selma is a very innocent and honest woman starts to give her an unfortunate journey of life that eventually slips to one of the most miserable and unforgettable last scenes of all movies.

The plot seems very heartbroken as it really is in the film. The problem with this kind of plot is that who could be so naïve and innocent as Selma always acts. Viewers can get annoyed after scene and scene of the main character being too “honest” and way too “generous” which are very odd to say when speaking in terms of morality in the real world. But since this is the way the director wants it to be, then it is ridiculously agreeable.

However, the film is successful in term of indicating how cruel the luck could be to one harmless woman. It crushes out the deepest depression from audiences. It also captures a glance of capitalism in some part of the movie.

Many of Bjork’s hardcore fans could unquestionably put this movie into their most favorite films lists. Bjork was flawless in becoming a poor blind woman. She nailed loads of drama scenes that will make you reconsider the talent of this artist; especially in the must-see ending. Other casts were OK, no other outstanding roles but it was acceptable since no actors were actually lame.

Hand held digital camera is mainly used in this movie. Of course in several scenes the director needs to spawn more than 50-100 cameras to capture a view from all angles. Good or bad, visionary or a wrong experiment - it sure causes some shaky vision problem to audiences, but in the end this particular technique also delivers an amusing impact to those who watch. As it, no matter intentionally or unintentionally, generates a “real” perceiving to the movie; therefore it offers such emotional landslides while watching. Nevertheless, many still complains by the low quality of image appears in this movie. So this might be a two-edged sword at the end.

Anyway, to differentiate Selma’s musical fantasy from a normal scene, Lars Von Tier uses static cameras instead and also adjusts the colors so that viewers can feel the separateness.

This film could be categorized to a melodrama. Therefore, one of the most essential things in this movie is the music. There’s no actual music that plays along the storyline at all, except the movie’s own musical scene in Selma’s surreal world. Having no music makes it very raw and somehow heartfelt. As viewer can assume to be there with the characters and witnessing all daily-routine sounds surrounding without exaggerated background music like many drama movies always have. Yet it could be very boring for some case as a real-life sound drags the story until the end.

Undoubtedly, Bjork, who’s been iconized as the queen of experimental alternative artist, offered her hands for an original soundtrack to the movie, including some of the background music. She composed and produced the songs that are played in Selma’s surreal world in the movie with some assist from her long time collaborators such as Mark Bell and Sjon. The lyrics are beyond related to the main character. Though it could be judged as very Bjork-ish due to the fact that the Icelandic diva admitted she received a hard time separating Selma out of her reality during shooting this film (many critics suspense sarcastically that’s the reason why she nailed the role so perfectly.)

Bjork received the award from Cannes Films Festival in 2000 for best actress, as well as the movie that also won the Palme d’Or award. She went on to receive nomination for Best Original Song (I’ve Seen It All) and surprised the red carpet that night with one of the most permanent dress that will go down in all red carpets history – the infamous swan dress.

“Dancer in the Dark” received remarkably mixed reviews from critics. This is not surprising as it happened during its world premiere in Cannes Film Festival; receiving both standing ovation and the walk-off. How could the melodrama break your heart? You’d better make the fairest judgment by seeing it, and suddenly you will realize how one movie can tear you into pieces.

First I know not what to publish here.

Oh well..

I've actually been observing people writting blogs referring to their interests; music, movies, bitching, or such as. So I was like.. OK I used to own my very own .com website with a bought domain, sure it doesn't exist anymore since I stop paying them fee.. After my website's closed down, I found myself spending too much time on the internet still, and I kinda didn't do much things that benefit myself back.. so blogging - I don't know but maybe it could help me expressing or exposing some shits that I wanna shout out to people, or at least this area will be my place to say whatever I want to say that coulnd't be published in no magazines... whatever I just want everyone to know that from now on
